About This Project

TAG is an experimental, research-based dance performance that brings together body, object, subject, and space into one moving, breathing ecosystem.

It started as a live, immersive performance for the Motavali Festival, set to happen in Vali Art Gallery. But tadddaaa! All of a sudden, Covid-19 was here! And life did what it does. So plans had to change.

TAG was reimagined as a livestream—audiences engaging not in a room, but from wherever they were.

Not sure if it was a successful attempt… yet, for 2 days’ notice, I think it did its job!

This piece is about the presence of bodies, the transformation of bodies and space in each other’s presence. It’s about how we, in relation to objects, spaces, and more, may get labeled, tagged, defined differently.

And are any of those definitions even valid?!

So the idea was to re-label the body that seems docile, passive, quiet, and lead it into a fluid ever-changing being which is a vessel for connection: responding to what’s around it. Shaping and being shaped all the time!
